The cover letter should address your specific interest in the position and outline skills and experience that directly relate to this position. \nResponsibilities\nA post-doctoral position is immediately available to study the role of the chromatin remodeling factor ATRX in pediatric high-grade glioma. This is an exciting project that combines genetically engineered mouse models with genetic and epigenetic analysis performed under the supervision of Dr. Koschmann (Department of Pediatrics). The position will be supported by the Chad Carr Pediatric Brain Tumor Center\, and inclose collaboration with Dr. Sriram Venneti (Department of Pathology and Department of Pediatrics).\nThe successful applicant will be responsible for designing and performing studies of a novel genetically engineered intra-uterine electroporation (IUE) mouse model of brain tumors with genetic and epigenetic profiling \nRequired Qualifications\nThe successful applicant will have PhD in Cancer\, Neuroscience\, Epigenetics\, or related area of molecular or cellular biology. Expertise in molecular and cellular biology techniques including molecular cloning\, cell culture\, gene transfection/transduction\, RNA\, DNA\, and protein studies is essential. \nDesired Qualifications\nPrior experience with gene editing and chromatin immunoprecipitation will be considered an asset. Experience with murine models of neurology-base disease and/or in vivo tumor studies is preferred. \nBackground Screening\nMichigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
