DESCRIPTION:We are currently looking for a highly motivated\, team orientated individual to join our Carlsbad facility. \nThe Research Associate will work in our Manufacturing Department\, mostly within the Antibody Production group. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and detailed oriented researcher with extensive background in cell culture. \nJob Description: \n\nMaintenance and expansion of existing and new hybridomas\, and manufacturing of monoclonal and recombinant antibodies under manager supervision.\nMaintain cell culture facilities and culture cell lines as required for experiments.\nFollow current protocols and methods and propose new ideas to improve in-house protocols\, processes and equipment.\nMake detailed observations\, analyze data\, and interpret results. Maintain complete and thorough lab notebook.\nMaintain accurate\, detailed records\, and present updates to managers and project teams.\nEnsure availability of materials and equipment to carry out experiments.\nAbility to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously.\n\nRequirements: \n\nBS\, MS in biological sciences with 1-3 years working experience.\nImpeccable cell culture and sterile technique with demonstrated experience in maintenance and expansion\, cryopreservation and cell banking of cancer cell lines a must.\nExperience performing SDS-PAGE required; experience with antibody purification techniques\, Western Blotting\, ELISA.\nExperience in maintenance and expansion of mouse and rat hybridomas a plus.\nGeneral knowledge of hybridoma methodologies\, including immunizations\, fusions\, selection and screening techniques a plus.\nExperience with medium to large scale production\, including bioreactor systems\, and recombinant antibody manufacture a plus.\nMay be required to work some hours on the weekend for cell maintenance\n\nIf you are interested in a career at one of America’s fastest growing biotechnology firms\, please submit your cover letter and resume outlining your qualifications and experience.
