SUMMARY:Assistant Professor
DESCRIPTION:The Assistant Professor will be expected to perform research to identify the causes of brain tumors in children and develop new treatments for these deadly cancers as part of the Pediatric Neuro- Oncology Research Program at Texas Children’s Cancer Center (BCM). The Assistant Professor will help to build a research program related to the genetic and epigenetic basis of brain tumors\, including obtaining grant funding\, presenting research at scientific meetings\, publishing manuscripts describing this work\, and educating students and trainees. The Assistant Professor will also be expected to contribute to the design of research strategy for the Research Program and collaborate with other group members on translational and clinical studies to advance the care of children with brain tumors. \nRequired: doctoral degree in a related field and relevant experience in an academic research setting.
