SUMMARY:Postdoctoral Fellow
DESCRIPTION:The new R&D Oncology organisation brings together early and late oncology teams\, from discovery through to late-stage development\, with oncology specific Regulatory and Biometrics groups. \nYou’ll be in a global pharmaceutical environment but also exposed to strong rigorous academic science. For example\, every postdoc has an external academic mentor to ensure we are working and publishing at the highest level in a field. What’s more\, you’ll have the support of a leading academic advisor\, who’ll provide you with the guidance and knowledge you need to develop your career. \nYou’ll be associated with a project aligned with our scientific platform of Tumour Driver and Resistance\, aiming to elucidate the mechanism of an epigenetic protein that functions as a resistance mechanism for cancer and define the combination strategy to overcome the drug resistance. \nEducation and Experience required: \nEssential: \n\nPhD in oncology\, cell biology\, or related field\nStrong desire to learn and perform cancer research in an industry setting\nExpertise in epigenetic oncology and/or RTK signalling pathways\nStrong scientific background in mechanisms of disease and drug resistance.\nExperience with a variety of laboratory\, molecular\, and cellular biology techniques  \n\nDesirable: \n\nRelevant bioinformatic experience\n\nSkills and Capabilities required: \n\nHighly motivated\, innovative and reliable with the ability to effectively problem solve\nFlexible\, collaborative and team-oriented mind set\nStrong publication track record\nExcellent communication skills (oral and written)\n\nThis is a 3-year programme.  2 years will be a Fixed Term Contract\, with a 1-year extension which will be merit based.  The role will be based in Waltham\, MA\, USA\, with a competitive salary on offer.
