SUMMARY:Post-Doctoral Research Fellow
DESCRIPTION:A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the Grady laboratory at FHCRC for a NCI (RO1)-funded translational cancer research program. The incumbent will be part of the multi-disciplinary research team to identify and characterize novel molecular/cellular mechanisms driving colon cancer initiation and progression using cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art instrumentation. The focus of research conducted in Dr. William Grady’s laboratory is the study of the molecular and cell biology of gastrointestinal cancer as well as the role of genetic and epigenetic alterations in cancer.\n\n\n\nQualifications\n\n\n\nHighly motivated candidates are encouraged to apply.\n\nThe successful candidate will have a PhD in cellular biology\, molecular biology\, biochemistry or a related field with strong interest in cancer research.\nA track record of excellent first author publication is strongly favored.\nEstablished experience in the areas of aging/senescence is desirable.\nEstablished experience with CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technology in primary cell culture/3-D organoid culture is a plus.\nWorking knowledge/experience with next-gen sequencing is a plus.\n\nOther key abilities:\n\nAbility to work independently and cooperatively\nStrong communication skills and interpersonal skills\nWillingness to teach junior lab members\n\nTo be considered\, the application should include a resume with at least three references\, and a summary of research experience and interests.
