SUMMARY:Postdoctoral Fellow
DESCRIPTION:A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available to work in the areas of ubiquitin-like modifications in the laboratory of Dr. Yuan Chen at the Beckman Research Institute of the City of Hope ( https://www.cityofhope.org/people/chen-yuan) .  \nThe Postdoctoral Fellow position is for protein biochemistry/X-ray crystallography to investigate a class of allosteric inhibitors for enzymes that catalyze ubiquitin-like post-translational modifications. The position has support for at least 3 years. We seek a candidate who has a strong expertise in structural studies of protein complexes\, and areself-motivated and career-oriented. Our laboratory takes multi-disciplinary approaches ranging from structural biology\, molecular biology\, biochemistry\, mouse models and analysis of patient specimen. The position offers opportunity to gain expertise in areas outside of structural biology and to work on leading problems in cancer research.  \nThe Beckman Research Institute is a premier biomedical research\, treatment and educational institution\, and a designated Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute. Our faculty members have made major contributions in biological sciences and biomedicine and are widely recognized as leaders in their fields. Both basic science and translational biomedical research flourish here in a collegial atmosphere in which basic science findings are often applied to the cure of life-threatening diseases.  \nPlease send Curriculum Vita and names of three references to:\n Dr. Yuan Chen  \nE-mail: ychen@coh.org
