SUMMARY:Senior Scientist - Gynecology & Obstetrics
DESCRIPTION:Position Summary\nRun day-to-day operations of the Khabele Laboratory within the KU Cancer Center. The person will interact with basic and clinical scientists to support translational research within our cancer center. The candidate must have strong communication skills and work well within a collaborative team. He/she will generate and review results\, troubleshoot assays and help write clinical protocols\, grants and manuscripts.\n\n\nRequired Qualifications\nPhD in a biological science. Strong work ethic\, effective communication skills\, and willingness to work under supervision of the lab director and with other lab members. A strong background in molecular biology.\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nAt least 3 years experience in current molecular biology techniques including experience working with chromatin biology and/or epigenetics\, prior willingness to work with mouse models of cancer. Experience with Next Generation Sequencing\, DNA methylation analysis\, ChIP-seq\, cell culture or flow cytometry experience. PCR primer design\, DNA\, RNA and protein\, qRT-PCR\, electrophoresis\, Western blot\, ELISA and other molecular biological techniques.
