SUMMARY:Postdoctoral Fellow - Functional Cancer Genomics
DESCRIPTION:Postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Jian Xu\, in the Children’s Research Institute of UT Southwestern Medical Center to study the functional genomics of stem cells and cancer.  The laboratory focuses on the intersection of transcriptional control with stem cell biology\, hematopoiesis and cancer. We employ epigenetics\, functional genomics\, genome editing\, biochemistry\, and mouse genetics to define epigenetic and genetic programs that control blood stem cell development\, and how these processes go awry in cancer progression. The laboratory is equipped with cutting-edge genomics and bioinformatics platforms\, and has access to numerous shared facilities including next-gen sequencing\, metabolomics\, imaging\, and flow cytometry. \nThe successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree with a strong background in molecular biology\, mouse genetics\, genomics or a related field. The ideal candidate will exhibit independence\, flexibility and creativity with a record of scientific productivity. Previous experience in epigenetics\, generating and analyzing mouse models\, cancer genomics\, and/or hematology-oncology is strongly preferred. \nTo apply: please submit CV\, a short summary of research interest and experience\, and a list of three references to: \nJian Xu\, PhD \nAssistant Professor\, Children’s Research Institute \nCPRIT Scholar in Cancer Research \nAmerican Society of Hematology Scholar \nUT Southwestern Medical Center \n5323 Harry Hines Blvd. Dallas\, TX 75390-8502
