SUMMARY:Postdoctoral Scholar in Computational Biology and Epigenetics
DESCRIPTION:Postdoctoral Scholar position available for highly motivated candidates to join the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine starting in September 2016 to investigate epigenetic regulation of innate immunity using high throughput epigenetic and molecular biology tools in order to discover and translate novel biomarkers for systemic infectious disease diagnosis and prognosis\, screen for targeted therapies\, and understand their underlying mechanisms of action in disease pathogenesis. \n Qualifications:\n• Ph.D. degree with in computational biology\, bioinformatics\, or immunology required.\n• Prior training or degree received from US/UK/Canadian academic institution required.\n• Knowledge and experience with various bioinformatic and biostatistical analysis tools are required.\n• Relevant prior hands-on experience in state-of-the-art methods such as Next Generation Sequencing (ChiP-Seq\, RNASeq\, etc.) and its data analysis\, array-based miRNA/gene expression analysis\, and non-coding RNA work will be given preference\n• Must possess excellent writing and communication skills\, a solid record of peer-reviewed publications\, commitment to drive scientific projects\, motivation for high impact\, high quality research\, ability to work closely with an interdisciplinary research team.\n• Applicants must be able to learn and develop new skills as required for the studies.
