SUMMARY:Postdoctoral Associate
DESCRIPTION:A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Maria Diaz-Meco. The overall goal of Dr. Diaz-Meco’s laboratory is to study metabolism and inflammation in the context of prostate cancer (Pca)\, with the aim of understanding the biology of this disease and to identify potentially novel therapeutic targets. \nThe Postdoctoral Associate will study the role of epigenetic and metabolic reprogramming in lineage plasticity and therapy resistance in prostate cancer.  The project is based on our recent publication on this topic: Reina-Campos et al.\, 2019\, Cancer Cell [https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ccell.2019.01.018]. \nTO APPLY: Interested candidates should apply online to the SBP career site by submitting a single PDF document with a cover letter\, CV\, three references and list of any publications or accomplishments. Please include a brief description of research accomplishments\, research interests and career goals. \nPrimary Responsibilities\n\nIndependently design and perform experiments and procedures with high degree of complexity\nDemonstrate flexibility in adapting methods and skills according to evolving project priorities\nProvide independent experimental design and planning\nBe able to analyze and interpret data from different sources and draw relevant conclusions\nDemonstrate knowledge in relevant specialized disciplines\nBe able to present results at internal and external meetings\nAccurately document experiments\nContribute to writing of reports and manuscripts with increasing responsibility over time\nWork collaboratively across lab functions and train other junior lab staff as needed \n\nRequired Experience \n\nPh.D. degree in biological science is required\nThe qualified candidate should have expertise in this area and experience in mouse models\n\nKnowledge\, Skills\, and/or Abilities\n\nHighly motivated and enthusiastic interest in this very competitive topic\nThe ability to work independently and to handle multiple projects and deadlines\nDemonstrated ability to work in an interactive and collaborative team\nExcellent presentation\, verbal\, and written communication skills\nPossess strong attention to detail\, analytical\, time management\, organizational\, and interpersonal skills\nEmbody the Institute’s core values of Commitment\, Collaboration\, Communication\, Community and Compassion
