DESCRIPTION:JOB OVERVIEW\nUnder direct supervision and with training provided\, the Staff Research Associate I (SRA I) will provide research assistance for the Munster Laboratory in the Division of Hematology/Oncology\, Department of Medicine. The research program in the Munster laboratory focuses on the epigenetic modulation of therapy resistance\, with a focus on improving treatments for breast and other cancers.DEPARTMENT OF MEDICINE\n The Department of Medicine\, with annual revenues of $417 million\, is the largest department in the UCSF School of Medicine. The mission of the Department is research (basic and clinical)\, teaching\, patient care\, and public service. \nABOUT UCSF\n The University of California\, San Francisco (UCSF) is a leading university dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research\, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions\, and excellence in patient care. It is the only campus in the 10-campus UC system dedicated exclusively to the health sciences.\n\n\nRequired Qualifications \n• BA/BS degree with a degree in Biochemistry or related science and knowledge of\, or experience with\, the basic techniques or methods required by the position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience \n • Exposure to conducting rodent animal research including handling\, drug delivery\, tumor/weight measurements\, euthanasia\, and tissue harvesting. Must be willing to work with both mouse and rat models \n • Ability to handle and prioritize responsibilities pertaining to multiple projects \n • Ability to draft routine reports and keep accurate records of work performed \n • Strong inclination to learn and apply new techniques \n • Ability to analyze data in spreadsheets\, data entry into databases\, database management\, advanced computer skills\n
