SUMMARY:Postdoctoral Associate
DESCRIPTION:The Kladde lab at the UF Health Cancer Center in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is currently accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Associate.  The lab investigates mechanisms of epigenetic dysregulation in cancer\, focusing on establishment and maintenance of epigenetic gene silencing during cancer progression. \nDuties will include: \n\nDetermining the molecular basis of epigenetic alterations in the genomes of cultured cells and patient-derived tumors during progression of breast and colon cancer.\nTesting the epigenomic effect of oncogenic driver mutations introduced by CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing.\nAnalysis of chromatin structure in vitro and in vivo\, e.g.\, by MAPit methylation footprinting and chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP).\nResearching\, interpreting\, and critically evaluating primary literature; compiling and analysis of data; and maintaining a complete\, accurate\, and up-to-date lab notebook.\nPreparing and editing manuscripts for publication for dissemination of results as well as applications for grants and patents in consultation with the supervisor.\nSupervising and training of graduate students (PhD and Master’s level)\, and undergraduates.\n\nPhD or an MD/PhD degree in the fields of biochemistry\, molecular biology\, or a related discipline. Applicants should have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to work flexible hours depending on specific experiments.  \nExperience in protein biochemistry (e.g.\, nucleosome reconstitution and/or protein overexpression) and epigenomics (e.g.\, ChIP-seq\, RNA-seq\, bisulfite sequencing\, bioinformatics). \nIn order to be considered\, you must upload a Curriculum Vitae\, the names of three references\, and a cover letter explaining your specific interest in joining the lab and obtaining training as well as career aspirations. \nFinal candidate will be required to provide official transcripts to the hiring department upon hire.  A transcript will not be considered “official” if a designation of “Issued to Student” is visible.  Degrees earned from an education institution outside of the United States are required to be evaluated by a professional credentialing service provider approval by National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES)\, which can be found at http://naces.org/
