SUMMARY:Research Associate 2
DESCRIPTION:The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center along with the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an exciting career opportunity for a Research Associate 2. This position will develop new projects aimed at understanding the epigenetic mechanisms deregulated in breast cancer and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. The Research Associate 2 will contribute to the University’s research activities under the supervision of senior staff.  \nThe duties and responsibilities for this position may include\, but are not limited to:\n\nPerforming specialized and complex experiments.\nParticipating in the publication of significant research results.\nAdvancing expertise through education\, training\, and research.\nWriting extramural proposals to gain support when appropriate.\nCollecting\, preparing\, analyzing\, dissecting\, and evaluating specimens and tissue cultures.\nWeighing and anesthetizing laboratory animals for experiments.\nOperating sensitive and highly complex laboratory equipment.\nPerforming calculations to complete research test results.\nPerforming photography and dark room processing.\nParticipating in training sessions and workshops.\nAdhering to the University of Miami and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguarding University assets.\n\n \nThe minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study as well as at least two years of relevant experience. Skill in collecting\, organizing\, and analyzing data. Ability to recognize\, analyze\, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
