DESCRIPTION:An individual is sought to independently direct a project investigating molecular cross-talk between epigenetics and chromatin organization in normal and malignant hematopoiesis using molecular biology\, biochemistry\, fluorescence microscopy\, and NGS-based epigenome profiling methods. The goal of these studies is to identify novel targets and design therapeutic interventions to prevent or delay the development of\, and to treat acute myeloid leukemia.  \n\nDesign and coordinate projects to carry out experiments in animal models of myeloid malignancies and pre-leukemic conditions to evaluate potential therapeutic agents\nPerform epigenomic and chromatin profiling experiments such as ChIP-seq\, ATAC-seq\, MAPit-PATCH\, WGBS\nUse wide field fluorescence and and confocal microscopy to document dynamic changes in chromatin structure in live and fixed hematopoietic cells\nAnalyze\, interpret\, and visually organize data\nWrite manuscripts\nAssist with grant proposal preparation\nWrite technical reports\nTrain and supervise technical personnel\, assist with mentoring of graduate students\nPresent research results at meetings\n\n\nAdvertised Salary: \nCommensurate with education and experience  \nMinimum Requirements: \nPh.D. in molecular biology\, biochemistry\, cancer biology\, molecular genetics\, or related field  \nPreferred Qualifications: \n5+ years of research experience  \nExpertise in cancer epigenetics\, chromatin biology\, transcriptomics\, functional genomics\, and other NGS-based methods as demonstrated by published papers in peer reviewed scientific journals  \nSpecial Instructions to Applicants: \nInterested candidates must apply online.
