SUMMARY:Research Associate
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Responsibilities include carrying out basic research employing biochemical\, biophysical\, and structural (X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM) techniques to address biomedical aspects of epigenetics and/or cancer biology; and participation in the training and mentoring of graduate students working in the same area. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and research. \nIn addition to providing candidates the resources and environment to bolster and compliment their scientific training\, this position will provide candidates the opportunity to participate in related activities associated with running a research laboratory including the mentoring of trainees and participation in the preparation of grant proposals.
