SUMMARY:Two Postdoc Positions - Epigenetics & Translational Cancer Research
DESCRIPTION:Two postdoctoral positions will be available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Kexin Xu in the Department of Molecular Medicine at the University of Texas Health San Antonio (UTHSA)\, located in San Antonio\, Texas. \nSelected candidates will perform highly interdisciplinary and collaborative scientific research in one or more of the following areas: (1). Explore the roles of epigenetic programs in normal growth and disease formation; (2) Decipher the changes in the epigenetic machineries upon developmental or pathological stimuli; (3) Identify diagnostic/prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for multiple human cancer types; (4) Develop chemical probes and therapeutics for pre-clinical studies and potential clinical applications. Postdocs in these positions are more likely to have close interaction with oncologists and may deal with clinical samples. Please check the lab website at: http://molecularmedicine.uthscsa.edu/FAC_Research.aspx?facID=180. \nThe research program will help the trainees to build up strong expertise and training record in bioinformatics\, multi-omics (genomics\, transcriptomics\, proteomics\, epigenomics and metabolomics) approaches\, animal models and high-throughput screening\, and etc. \nThe UTHSA is the largest university of health science in South Texas and one of four medical schools in the UT System. The affiliated Cancer Therapy & Research Center (CTRC) is one of the NCI-designated national cancer centers in the state of Texas. \nThe applicant should have a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in molecular/cellular biology\, cancer biology\, or closely related biological sciences.
