SUMMARY:Research Scientist Engineer 3
DESCRIPTION:The Sidorova Lab is seeking a part-time 50% Research Scientist/Engineer 3.  \nThe Research Scientist / Engineer 3 (RSE 3) will report directly to the PI. While receiving periodic consultations with and feedback from the PI\, the RSE will work independently on research and development projects within the lab\, focusing on epigenetic mechanisms that control DNA replication in human cells and on the response to stressed DNA replication in acute myeloid leukemia cells. The RSE3 will devise and troubleshoot protocols\, generate and interpret data\, and propose next steps for the development of the project. In the course of this work the RSE3 will assume responsibility for coordinating work of undergraduate student research assistant who will help the RSE3 on the project\, collaborate with other members of the lab as needed\, and liaise with UW and FHCRC collaborators\, facilities and services\, as needed. The RSE3 will assist the PI in data analyses as relevant for the project\, and carry out project-specific literature searches and analyses\, database research\, and manuscript and/or proposal writing.  \nSpecific research activities will include but will not be limited to:  \n\nBasic molecular cloning and DNA analysis\, site-directed mutagenesis\, genome engineering\, sequence analysis;\nPCR\, qPCR\, RT-PCR\nHuman cell tissue culture\, RNAi\, transfection\, clone selection and genotyping\, transgene expression and analysis\nProtein expression analysis by Western blotting and immunoprecipitation\nImmunofluorescence in situ and FISH\nFluorescent microscopy\, image acquisition and analysis\n\nMinimum Requirements:  \n\nBachelors degree in Molecular biology or related field with 3 or more years’ experience or equivalent combination of educational\, postdoctoral and research staff experience in human/mouse molecular genetics and molecular and cellular biology\nEstablished record of independent execution of research projects\nKnowledge of R/R studio and familiarity with open source tools for “omic” data analyses.\n\nDesired:  \n\nMasters Degree or Ph.D. in Molecular biology or related field with 5+ years of postdoctoral and research staff experience in human/mouse molecular genetics and molecular and cellular biology
