SUMMARY:Postdoc in Epigenetics/Cancer (Brussels\, Belgium)
DESCRIPTION:A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Laboratory of Cancer Epigenetics headed by Prof. François Fuks (ULB – Université Libre de Bruxelles/Free University of Brussels\, Belgium). \nYou will be expected to conduct cancer research in epigenetics and epigenomics. Specifically\, you will investigate the mechanisms and functions of a novel epigenetic modification. The following recent publication has direct relevance to this project: Delatte B\, et al.\, Science. 2016; 351:282-5. Genetic\, biochemical and cell biological as well as genome-wide approaches (e.g. RNA-Seq\, ChIP-Seq\, Infinium Methylation) will be applied. The lab is running a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Illumina platform: EPICS (http://epics.ulb.be/) and is part of the new ULB-Cancer Research Center (U-CRC) directed by Prof. Fuks\, encompassing fundamental\, translational and clinical research and providing an excellent scientific environment to conduct high profile research.\nWe are looking for a highly motivated candidate with extensive experience in molecular and cell biology. Applicants should hold a PhD degree in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology or related disciplines (or have recently submitted their thesis with their defence scheduled) and have published (or about to publish) in a peer reviewed journal. DESCRIPTION:You are cordially invited to participate in the third Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory meeting on Epigenetics & Chromatin. The opening session will begin at 7:30 pm on Tuesday\, September 13 and the meeting will end after lunch on Saturday\, September 17\, 2016. As currently planned\, the program will have eight sessions devoted to oral presentations\, together with three poster sessions for presentations which cannot be accommodated in the formal sessions. Selection of talks for the oral sessions will be made by the organizers in conjunction with the session chairpersons\, from the submitted abstracts.

SUMMARY:Wellcome Genome Campus: Single Cell Genomics 2016
DESCRIPTION:Building on the success of previous single cell genomics meetings\, this year’s meeting will be held at the Wellcome Genome Campus\, Hinxton\, UK. \n\n\n\nSingle cell genomics is rapidly emerging as a revolutionary technology transforming many fields of biological research\, including immunology and cancer. Through its many applications (e.g. single cell genome sequencing\, single cell transcriptomics\, and various single cell epigenetic profiling approaches)\, researchers can characterize the genetic and functional properties of individual cells in their native conditions\, leading to numerous experimental and clinical opportunities. \nAs technology is developing\, many critical questions are arising: \n\nWhich technologies are going to set the standard in the field?\nHow many cells needed to be sampled? How should sampling be designed and optimized?\nHow can the behaviour of groups of hundreds or thousands of single cells be analysed and modelled?\nWhat is the importance of modelling when precise single-cell-states are available?\nHow can single cell genomics and epigenomics be integrated?\nWhat are the immediate implications for immunology\, cancer research and germ cells?\n\nThese questions will be the focus of discussions at this year’s meeting. This conference will bring together biologists\,  methods developers\, computational modellers and genomics researchers interested in understanding biological variation at the single cell level.
