DESCRIPTION:NIH funded postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Zhao at the Hospital for Special Surgery affiliated to Weill Medical College of Cornell University in the New York City. \n\nOngoing studies include identification of novel players and regulatory mechanisms of osteoclast differentiation\, osteoblast differentiation and bone remodeling in the physiological and pathological settings in osteoimmunology field\, an exciting interdisciplinary research field linking bone biology and immune system. We apply cutting edge cellular and molecular techniques including RNAseq and ChIPseq and use various genetic and disease mouse models to accomplish the study. Relevant publications: Nature Medicine\, 15 (9):1066-71\, 2009; Journal of Experimental Medicine\, 209(2):319-34\, 2012; Journal of Clinical Investigation\, 124 (11):5057-73\, 2014. \n\nWe are recruiting postdoctoral candidates who have a recent Ph.D. and strong research interest and expertise in cell biology/signaling\, cell differentiation and development\, immunology\, metabolisms or epigenetics.  Candidates with experience in osteoclast\, osteoblast\, chondrocyte or adipocyte differentiation are preferred. DESCRIPTION:We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Guo Laboratory at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. Our research focuses on elucidating the role of stem cell pathways in breast cancer pathogenesis. These studies are built on our recent findings in normal and malignant breast stem cells (Cell Reports 18: 2825-2835\, 2017; Cell Reports 16: 3146-3156\, 2016; Cell 148: 1015-1028\, 2012; Cell 133: 704-715\, 2008). The research focus of this position will be on stem cell plasticity and epigenetic regulation of mammary stem cells and cancer stem cells. The project will use a wide range of genomics/epigenomics methods\, CRISPR genome editing\, organoid culture\, and in vivo mouse models.\nOur laboratory is part of Gottesman Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Research\,\n\nDepartment of Cell Biology and Einstein Cancer Center. SUMMARY:Postdoctoral Associate
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Adams’ lab investigates the impact of chromatin and epigenetics on cellular senescence\, aging and cancer. In particular\, the lab hypothesizes that age-associated changes in chromatin and epigenetic programming contribute to the dramatic age-associated increase in incidence of cancer. While age is the biggest single risk factor for most cancers\, the reason for this is current poorly understood. \nThe lab strives to be highly collaborative with other labs in San Diego\, the US and elsewhere\, for example collaborating with computational biologists\, immunologists\, experts in specific mouse models of cancer and aging\, and surgeons\, pathologists and clinical oncologists. \nSummary\nApplications are invited from ambitious\, independent and motivated postdoctoral associate candidates to join the lab of Professor Peter D. Adams investigating the epigenetics of aging and cancer. The specific project in the broad epigenetics-cancer-aging area can be discussed\, but we are particularly interested in investigating aspects of epigenetic dysregulation in Acute Myeloid Leukemia that can be exploited for development of novel therapies. \nThe project can employ state-of-the-art molecular and cellular biology approaches\, including ChIP-seq\, RNA-seq\, ATAC-seq\, DNA methyl-seq and other large-scale epigenomic and chromatin analyses\, including at the single-cell level; high throughput chemical and RNAi/CRISPR phenotypic screens; cell imaging; state-of-the-art gene manipulations using RNAi and CRISPR technology. DESCRIPTION:Responsibilities\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo use their training in cell/molecular biology and bioinformatics to design\, execute and analyze experiments to study epigenetic mechanisms of gene regulation that control lung epithelial cell differentiation in development and disease including the function of specific long non-coding RNAs using in vitro induced pluripotent stem cells as well as in vivo mouse models. \n\nCollects and assembles data for any type of oral or written presentation.\nIndependently develops scientific hypotheses related to ongoing work in the laboratory.\nIndependently designs experiments to test hypotheses.\nIndependently carries out or delegates procedures for experiments.\nAnalyzes results of experiments independently.\nIndependently prepares oral and written reports for the P.I. on research to include\, but not limited to: coherently and effectively communicating our laboratory research by writing abstracts\, manuscripts\, grant proposals and data reports for grants and oral presentations with corresponding slide presentation for PI\, local and national meetings.\n\nPerforms routine and more difficult procedures\, analyzes data and coherently presents results in the form of presentations\, abstracts\, manuscripts and the basis for grant writing\, preparation and submission \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQualifications\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPh.D. in cell biology\, genetics\, or molecular biology \nPrevious experience in confocal microscopy\, FACS\, RNA-sequencing analysis\, CRISPR/Cas9 preferable
