Position Summary and Key Responsibilities:
A Staff Scientist position is available in at City of Hope, one of a prestigious group of NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers.
The successful candidate will join a highly competitive research lab to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying transcriptional control and cell signaling during the course of development and tumorigenesis. Specifically, the candidate will use both in-vitro biological approaches and genetically-engineered mouse models to uncover gene-expression, and genomic and epigenetic alterations in response of steroid hormone action and biological consequences of these cellular events.
This Staff Scientist position is designed for career research professionals who have extensive research experience, skills, and analytic ability to lead sophisticated research projects that are carried out in the PI’s lab. Candidates should also have a proven track record of creativity and productivity, as well as previous experience in designing and performing daily experiments with GEM models.
Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:
Requires at a minimum, the U.S. equivalent Ph.D. or other doctoral level degree in the field of Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or Cell Biology. Candidates should be highly self-motivated, have a strong desire to learn, and have excellent communication skills.
