My name is Ana Vankova, I’m 26 and I come from Skopje, Macedonia. I obtained my BSc degree in Chemical Engineering (Analytical Biochemistry) in Skopje. After finishing my degree, I worked in food quality control for a year and a half before moving to Trondheim, Norway, to pursue a Master’s in Molecular Medicine at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). I’m currently on my final semester of studies.
Health sciences have always been a great interest of mine and I decided to continue my studies in Molecular Medicine to hopefully contribute in any way possible to the knowledge in the medical field. I’m now working on investigating the importance of Neil DNA repair glycosylases for the development of the spatial memory network of the brain in mice.
I joined this amazing initiative in January of 2019. It feels amazing to be a part of this awareness-raising project and to help in the delivery of scientific education about cancer treatment and prevention. I think that the project is a really important part of the fight against the misinformation out there, as it provides a good summary of the findings based on rigorous scientific sources. The hope being that we inform and reach as many people as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to read my bio,
Ana.
