Postdoctoral Fellow
September 8, 2017 - October 8, 2017
Multiple postdoctoral positions are currently available in the laboratory of Dr. Dustin Schones at the City of Hope.
We are broadly interested in exploring the interaction of epigenomic and genomic variation in the development of complex diseases such as obesity, diabetes and cancer. We utilize integrative approaches combining computational and experimental approaches to study these problems. More information about our research program can be found here: https://www.cityofhope.org/people/schones-dustin
Ongoing projects include: 1) Investigating the environmental stimuli responsible for epigenetic dysregulation of transposable elements and the mechanisms responsible for this, 2) Examining the potential of therapeutic interventions to suppress epigenetic dysregulation of transposons, 3) Investigating the molecular mechanisms whereby metabolic diseases mediate epigenetic modifications across the genome, 4) Examining the causes and consequences of epigenomic variation across populations.
Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:
- A Ph.D. in molecular biology, computational biology or related fields is required.
