Hi, my name is Michael Wachtel, I’m 34 and I’m from Vienna, Austria. I’m currently studying molecular biotechnology at the Technical University FH Campus Vienna.

Prior to my current studies, I worked in many different professional sectors, including office management, IT, and the pharmaceutical industry.

I became aware of the work done by the Cancer Epigenetics Society in September 2017 and I immediately applied and got into an internship as a curator and contributor to the Cancer Epigenetics Drug Database, Experimental Section. Since January 2018, I also became an Editor of the German section (Nein zu Krebs) of the multilingual “No To Cancer” Campaign.

I think this is a very important and much needed project, one that nobody has done before, and I’m very proud to be a part of it!
